Danke für den link, Spotti! Interessantes Thema, es kommt ja relativ häufig vor. In diesem Beispiel eben um einen Ganzton rauf oder runter.

Ich hatte gerade erst I - I7 - IV geübt, wobei die I7 als Dominantseptakkord umgedeutet wird, und die IV zur neuen Tonika wird. Damit kann man den ganzen \"circle of fourth\" durchüben.

Was gibt es denn noch so für Modulationsarten/varianten? Funktioniert das auch in Halbtonschritten (z.B. E-Dur nach F-Dur)?

Du hast Recht.  I - I7 - IV  geht oft gut.   Hinweis: die Akkorde klingen wie der Refrain von \"I Saw Her Standing There.\"  hehe

The secret is to always get to the Bach cadence of the destination key (i.e.   IV  oder V7, followed by I).    One can get to the V (fifth) and then stretch it out harmonically and then play the 7th note that completes the cadence and pushes into the new key.    

As for your request, I would do the following to get from E to F.    

I  -  III (flat)  -  V7 (of new key) and root I.
