Hi all,
I just got home--exhausted but high on music--from another fabulous Portland Uke Fest. I\'d always wanted to lead a ukulele big band and I finally got to do it last week. They said it couldn\'t be done but in just three days the big band class (which included all levels from rookie to Lyle Ritz) put together a five-part jazz arrangement of Alexander\'s Ragtime (Big) Band! Last night Anne and I won Traditional Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards! Holy cow!!
What a way to cap off a crazy and colourful year... \"True Love Don\'t Weep\" has really been a turning point for us and it feels great to be recognized by the Canadian folk music community.
