Hi Folks,

Today\'s the day! Our new CD has \"officially\" hit the fan. To kick things off, Anne and I will sign the first 100 copies sold through the Ukulele in the Classroom store (More of your money will actually go to supporting us and our work and you\'ll get a one-of-a-kind CD. Such a deal!):

https://www.ukuleleintheclassroom.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=90

Also, you can check out the interview I did with Al Wood of Ukulele Hunt (talking about the new album and more) here:

Enjoy!

Neues von unserem Ehrenmitglied:

Hi all,

I just got home--exhausted but high on music--from another fabulous Portland Uke Fest.  I\'d always wanted to lead a ukulele big band and I finally got to do it last week.  They said it couldn\'t be done but in just three days the big band class (which included all levels from rookie to Lyle Ritz) put together a five-part jazz arrangement of Alexander\'s Ragtime (Big) Band!  Check out the result in this tongue-in-cheek mini-documentary by Jim D\'Ville:

Enjoy!

Hey Raimund,

Hope you\'re doing well.  I thought you might get a kick out of this video of me, Victoria Vox and Ralph Shaw being silly at the Wine Country Uke Fest.

I mean, it was all-you-can-drink wine all weekend; what did you think was going to happen?

One uke, one voice, one big afro wig...

Hi Raimund,

Last night Anne and I won Traditional Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards!  Holy cow!!

What a way to cap off a crazy and colourful year... \"True Love Don\'t Weep\" has really been a turning point for us and it feels great to be recognized by the Canadian folk music community.

So, thanks for listening and thanks for supporting us in our work; that\'s what makes all the difference.  Take care and I hope to see you soon.

Best wishes,

James

Hi folks,

Thank you for all your thoughtful messages following our CFMA award... we\'re still coming down off the high!  This is just a quick note to let everyone know that we've finally got John Kavanagh's CD Small Rooms: Rags, Jazz, and Encores for Uke online.  His site is www.johnkavanagh.net it has audio samples and links to other "John stuff".  Just a little shrine to his memory and his music; thought you might enjoy it.

All the best,

James

Hi Raimund,

The Ukulele Big Band has landed!

It all started at last year\'s Portland Ukulele Festival with that arrangement of Alexander\'s Ragtime Band.  What a hoot!  In three days the world\'s first Ukulele Big Band class learned a four-part jazz arrangement and performed it (there\'s a video of that magical performance here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nfsh3qcO21E ...thanks to Jim D\'Ville for that!).

Since then I\'ve been working on other Ukulele Big Band arrangements at four levels of difficulty: pre-beginner (\"mini-scores\" that introduce the basics of a big band arrangement), beginner, intermediate and advanced.  So, if you\'ve been searching for high-quality, multi-part arrangements for your ukulele class/group/jam, there\'s sure to be something for you in our growing catalog of sheet music.

The best part?  It\'s all delivered to you digitally: no shipping charges, no waste, no wait.  You can make as many (or as few) copies of the score, parts and audio as you need.  Free samples and much more are online now at:

www.ukuleleintheclassroom.com/sheetmusic

Ukulele Big Band.  Seriously.  A-one, a-two, a-one, two, three, four...

James

If you like what you see you can buy the book for just $7.98!  It\'s an affordable, high-quality addition to any sheet music collection!

Ist ja nett, aber andere müssen sowas in Ankündigungen und Werbung posten :-)

Well, Raimund, I can\'t think of a better way to celebrate my 31st birthday than to officially launch Man With a Love Song, my brand-new album!  And as if that weren\'t enough fun for one day, I\'m unveiling my new website, too!  Yee-haw!

Ok, calm down (me, not you).  Man With a Love Song doesn\'t \'technically\' go on sale until September 13th but you can preview four whole tracks right now, learn more about the album and test-drive the new website today:

Enjoy!

James

p.s. Of course, if you like what you hear, please help by spreading the word both on- and off-line.  It\'s time to tell the world!  Thank you!
